​The ceramic weight is resistant to concentrated detergents and helps optimize consumption by keeping the end of the suction hose at the bottom of the canister and not leaving too much in the canister after the detergent is used up.

It also prevents the end of the suction hose from floating closer to the surface, where there is a risk of air being sucked in (and therefore reducing the efficiency of the washing or scrubbing process).​
